Focus on female creativity with Mira Nair and Liliana Cavani, in a conversation moderated by Natalia Aspesi. Natalia introduced the dialogue by asking: "Is it correct to talk of a purely female creativity? I’m not so sure that it exists, creativity doesn’t have a specific sex."
Mira Nair: "Everything is possible, whether you are a man or a woman. I like to make movies that talk to people because I’m here to communicate. When people ask me how I feel to be a female director in Hollywood, my answer is it’s much easier than if I were a man. The point is to understand what you want to do in the world with your heart, with your craft. 90% of my crew are women; it’s a privilege to me to have my filming family".
Liliana Cavani: "It's really important that this festival is focused on women. Women can deal with any topic. Women live every day in a male and a female mood. Women are more emancipated than men themselves believe to be."
Natalia Aspesi closed the first face to face telling a story: "Years ago, when I started to work as a journalist, I was the only woman in the editorial staff and my male colleagues sent me away as a foreign correspondent."
